Specifications include, but are not limited to:Requesting proposals for an entity to provide respite care services through temporary child care of children with emotional and behavioral disabilities in the West Central Human Service Center region. STATE is requesting proposals for an entity to provide respite care services through temporary child care of children with emotional and behavioral disabilities. Respite care services must be available to children throughout the 10 counties in the WCHSC region, which are Burleigh, Emmons, Grant, Kidder, McLean, Mercer, Morton, Oliver, Sheridan, and Sioux. Respite care services must be provided based upon flexible hours, including evening, morning, and weekend hours based on the family’s schedule and request. Respite care services must be provided in the community either at the parent’s home or another specified location. An offeror shall demonstrate a thorough understanding of the philosophy of the Partnerships Program and the goal of respite care. An offeror shall provide a detailed training plan that will include how they implement the following training for their staff: first aid, CPR, observation and documentation, working with families, confidentiality, working with children with disabilities, crisis prevention intervention, and children’s mental health disorders and associated behaviors. This plan also needs to include how the offeror will ensure that all staff go through background checks, including criminal, child abuse and neglect, and driving record. The successful offeror shall respond to referrals for respite care within 10 working days of the referral. The successful offeror shall provide respite care services based on the day, time, and frequency that are approved in the referral. The successful offeror shall provide documentation regarding the services provided, including the following: 1. Child’s name 2. Child’s participation level 3. Child’s behavior 4. Any interventions needed 5. Injuries and how they were treated 6. Number of hours provided 7. Time and location of the service 8. Communication with parents 9. Respite care workers signature 10. Respite care workers supervisor’s signature
