Specifications include, but are not limited to: conduct brine pond and soil remediation studies. In addition, perform tests of two techniques for remediating salt and any other contamination from the soil surrounding brine ponds in the north central portion of North Dakota which were active between 1951 and 1984. Proposals that include a test of constructed wetland(s) for land reclamation at one site and amendments, irrigation, and drains for the other site are preferred. The goal of the project is to gain valuable knowledge of techniques and results of testing from sites mutually agreed upon by the contractor and the Reclamation Specialist from the Department of Mineral Resources as well as the landowner involved.
