Specifications include, but are not limited to: Boiler & Cooling Water Treatment Program. 1. Water Analyses It will be the responsibility of each bidder to do their own water analysis of water samples from the Raw Water, Make-up Water, Feed Water, Boiler Water, and Condensate Return Water systems. These samples are to be taken by each individual company prior to bid proposal for analysis. Samples can be gathered by scheduling an on-site visit with the Heating Plant Supervisor (701-253-3946). Copies of the analysis must be included with the bid response. 2. Make-up Water Pretreatment (related to Boiler Water Treatment) The external pretreatment equipment consists of the following: Two (2) Zeolite Softeners One (1) Deaerator 3. Operating Data o Average Cycles of Concentration on Feed water 30 o Deaerator Temperature 224 F o Deaerator Pressure 5 psig o Feed water Temperature 224 F o Boiler Drum Pressure 1. Coal boiler operations 150 psi 2. Summer boiler operations 125 psi o Annual Steam Production (2004-2009) Avg. 96,500,000 lbs/stm o Average percent condensate return 88% o Days per year operation 365 o Make-up water (2009-2012) Avg. 1,489,000 gal · All calculations for chemical consumption for quote comparisons will be based on average daily production of steam (261,000 lbs. steam and 4,000 gal. make-up water usage) · The NDSH Heating plant utilizes 150 psi steam to create a vacuum for the pulling of ashes, hence results in an annual loss of 1,200,000 lbs. of steam to the atmosphere. · On average the NDSH Heating Plant blows down utilizing a continuous skimmer 318 lbs. of boiler water per/hr
