Specifications include, but are not limited to: Providing After-School and Summer Youth Prevention Programs for youth under the age of 18 and their families. Funds will be awarded to multiple organizations throughout the state. The goals of the RFP are to: Provide positive opportunities for youth through evidence-based or promising prevention programs, which reduce risk factors for suicide, violence and enhance protective factors that increase resilience, strengthen skills and improve long- term outcomes. Provide evidence-based reading instruction for students age seven or over who are not reading at grade level. Fund programs that are results-oriented, not discrete stand alone activities, that can demonstrate impact and foster resiliency among youth and their families, that collaborate with schools and other community based organization to make the connection between in-school and out-of-school programs, and that connect youth and their families to needed services when problems or challenges are identified.
