Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Department is intending to make a one-time purchase for a weed barrier removal device that attaches to a skid steer loader. Duty Metalworks Inc. of Brookings, South Dakota has developed and patented a device and appears to be the only company that makes such an attachment. The attachment is universal and can be affixed to any skid steer loader. It can be adjusted to fit any width of weed barrier or fabric and can also be used to wrap fence wire/barbed wire. The skid steer loader can maneuver and work the fabric out of the ground and the attachment will wrap the fabric up around a spindle (typically a length of 2x4 lumber). Once the job is finished, the spindle and everything wrapped around it can all be conveniently discarded.
