Specifications include, but are not limited to: DESIGN AND FABRICATION OF A MOBILE WELDING LABORATORY AND CLASSROOM-Trailer Unit: The mobile trailer unit will be made up of two components. The classroom will be large enough to seat 8 students with the instruction space at the front of the classroom. The welding lab will be large enough to accommodate 8 student welding stations plus an instructors space. The trailer will be a fifth wheel trailer and shall meet all state and federal regulations, making it capable of being pulled on state and federal highways without any special permitting. The Unit will require its own power source to operate the HVAC unit, welding stations, small tools, lighting and exhaust system. Classroom noise is a consideration so mounting the generator externally or using sound attenuating materials or equipment is essential. Classroom: The classroom should be approximately 8 X 14 and have ample room for seating eight adult students and 1 instructors space. The unit will be furnished with 6 tablet type chairs. The classroom will have an HVAC unit capable of efficiently cooling and heating the classroom and maintaining temperatures between 68 and 76 degrees. Welding Lab: The welding lab will have eight student welding stations and a teacher demonstration area. The approximate size will be 32 X 8. Each station will be equipped with a welder, welding stand, gas cutting torch equipment, exhaust ventilation system and welding screens or partitions. A plasma cutter and track torch will be mounted in a small fabrication area. The floor and walls at the welding stations will be covered with a fire proof material. The lab will have room for welding and cutting gas bottles. The lab will have air tempering to maintain temperatures between 50 to 80 degrees. On Board Generator: The on board generator will be sized and capable of powering all welding equipment, HVAC equipment, exhaust equipment, lighting, 110 volt tool outlets and cutting tools.
