The work at the Casa Navarro State Historic Site includes preservation and rehabilitation work on the three historic structures and provides for accessiblity improvements and upgrades in electrical systems and interior lighting throughout. The Mercantile Building will have new exterior steps and ramp, replacement of second story windows and first floor screen doors to match their earliest known appearance, installation of a ductless split HVAC system, replacement of interior non-historic stair, removal of interior column, and structural modifications for office use on second floor. The front gate, walkways and courtyards within the site will be rebuilt to meet accessibility needs. The existing non-historic restrooms and maintenance building will be removed and rebuilt, consolidating the two into a single building that meets accessiblity requirements.
