Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Water Main Replacement – 2017 project consists of the installation of new 6‐inch and 8‐ inch ductile iron water main and appurtenances to replace existing 6‐inch and 8‐inch water main of various material, located within the corporate limits of the City of Newark, Delaware. The project includes, but is not necessarily limited to, the following major work items, which are described in greater detail in the attached Project Drawings: A. Installation of 6‐inch cement lined Class 52 ductile iron pipe and necessary bends and fittings under unpaved areas, paved areas and sidewalks. B. Installation of 8‐inch cement lined Class 52 ductile iron pipe and necessary bends and fittings under unpaved areas, paved areas and sidewalks. C. Installation of 6‐inch and 8‐inch gate valves under unpaved, paved areas and sidewalks. D. Removal and filling of existing gate valve boxes. E. Removal of fire hydrants and valve boxes and installation of new fire hydrants, leads, and isolation valves. F. Replacement of existing fire and domestic services as shown on the drawings and as indicated in the field by the City inspector. G. Installation of one new 4‐foot diameter precast manhole. H. Design and installation of temporary bypass piping (Dallam Road, Option #2) I. Plugging and/or capping of existing water main and/or gate valve as indicated on the drawings. J. Wet tapping of existing water main
