Specifications include, but are not limited to: Bank of North Dakota (BND) wishes to print a 100th anniversary celebration book to be published in 2018. We are engaging the appropriate individual to complete the research, writing and photo selection for this book. Skills and qualities sought included: 1) demonstrated writing skills, especially those with an ability to complete historical research and use it for written material; 2) knowledge and familiarity with the history of North Dakota; 3) ability to interview individuals to solicit content for the book; 4) ability to research and document historical records and events; 5) demonstrate ability to complete tasks in a timely manner; 6) willingness and ability to partner with designated BND staff to develop content and work with BND to design the book; 7) dedicate the required amount of time to the task of completing the book on the determined time schedule. The project will result in an 80- or 96-page book. The deliverable includes written manuscript and photographic content ready to be used by a BND staff member for final design and placement. Editor/writer will: 1. Cooperate with and operate under the direction/guidance of BND staff member, Janel Schmitz, or other BND staff members that may be assigned to this project. 2. Travel to Bismarck and other locations in North Dakota, as necessary, to gather information and materials for writing the text and to meet with BND staff members and others as needed. 3. Allow for videotaping of interviews which will be contracted and arranged by BND. 4. Research and select appropriate photos, figures, tables and artwork to effectively accompany and illustrate the text. 5. Oversee and research of the project and subcontract services as necessary. 6. Provide a final complete draft of the document in MS Word format that is suitable for incorporation into the book to be designed and published by BND.
