Specifications include, but are not limited to: A contract with infant formula manufacturers to supply and provide a rebate on all infant formulas it produces that the ND WIC Program chooses to issue to WIC Participants. The Contractor will rebate part of the cost of infant formula provided under the WIC Program to the ND Department of Health except exempt infant formula. Based on current data, an average of 2900 infants were provided WIC services over the last 6 months in 2016 through the North Dakota WIC Program. From July 2016 to December 2016, the issued contract brand infant formula averaged 2470 infants each month and the number of fully breastfed infants averaged 433 (see table below). (About 5% of the formula consumed by our infants is soy, the rest is milk based.)
