Requirement
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Nashville District, anticipates a requirement for a firm fixed-price construction contract for Roof Replacement Project for EM-DTOS Building in Old Hickory, TN. The anticipated NAICS code is 238160 Roofing Contractor, Size Standard $19.0 M. The estimated magnitude of this project is between $25,000 and $100,000.
Description of Work: The metal roof and all materials shall be capable of performing within the parameters for which it was designed and intended function, in accordance with the operating and performance requirements specified herein in accordance with the manufacturer’s warranty requirements. The new metal roof and materials shall be of standard, commercial, design; prototypes and demos will not be accepted. The installment of the new metal roof and materials shall be completed so that when the roofing is installed and assembled for any purpose and/or function for which it is designed and/or constructed by the manufacturer.
- The Contractor shall remove existing 350 square feet of damaged roofing on the southern corner of the DTOS building.
- Replacement of the 350 square feet of damaged paneling and insulation removed from the southern corner of the DTOS building.
- Conduct an inspection of the entire 5,000 square foot building for any unknown damages that need to be addressed.
- Replace the gutter and downspout system for the entire building.
- Replacement of the two ventilation fans on the roof of the building and reestablish connection with the wall fan ventilation fans of the building.
- Increase insulation value to R-15.
- Installation of new roofing materials: The specific type of metal roofing material will depend on the DTOS building’s design and the customer’s and COR’s preferences.
- De-energize of any electrical utilities must be requested for approval to the COR no later than 14 days in advance.
- Clean-up and disposal: All debris and waste materials from the roof replacement will be properly cleaned up and disposed of daily. Contractors will perform a thorough hands-on daily cleanup and magnet sweep at the end of each day to pick up and dispose of all debris such as nails, screws, etc. In addition, the contractor shall also use a blower to blow the roof surface, decks, and areas around the DTOS building clean of such debris and the end of each day prior to departing from the site.
- Final inspection: A final inspection will be conducted to ensure that the new roof meets all safety and quality standards. Contractor shall inform COR within 3 business days prior to final inspection to provide enough time for all required key personnel to attend.
