The contractor shall provide all personnel, equipment, supplies, facilities, transportation, tools, materials, supervision, and other items and non-personal services necessary to perform Farrier service as defined in this performance work statement except for those items specified as government furnished property and services. The contractor shall perform to the standards in this contract.
Scope: The Contractor shall provide non-personal service(s) of horse farrier services. This requirement consists of five (5) Ordering Periods as shown in PWS Section 1.5. Services include hoof trimming, barefoot care, hoofboot services, horseshoeing, specialty and corrective shoeing when required, and standby and emergency farriery as required. The contractor shall fit the shoe to each individual horse, depending on horse’s current needs. The contractor shall accomplish shoeing on a schedule of 4-6 weeks for each horse, unless medically directed to follow an alternate schedule. The contractor must have a mobile unit that enables farrier services to be performed at different areas in which the Caisson Detachment conducts missions, memorial services, validations, and other duties and events required of the Caisson horses. All Farrier services to the U.S. Army shall meet specific physical and certification requirements as the mission in Arlington National Cemetery is sensitive.
