Specifications include, but are not limited to: A) Installation of debris control racks to collect woody debris in controlled locations: • Site 1 (Upper Site): On Gunners Brook downstream of the LePage Gravel Pit on City of Barre property. • Site 2 (Lower Site): On Gunners Brook Between Reid Street and Harrington Ave. in the City of Barre. Work includes constructing gravel access roads and gates, control of water and erosion control during construction, installation of driven steel piles, channel excavation and installation of large stonefill within the channel, concrete placement within steel pipe piles, and restoration of surfaces. B) Permanent removal of the Harrington Avenue bridge deck/abutments and reconstruction of block walls along the channel using concrete blocks. Work includes demolition and removal of the bridge deck/abutments, removal of granite block walls, reconstruction of walls with concrete blocks tied with steel reinforcement, installation of pedestrian railing, installation of guard rail, repaving disturbed surfaces. C) Urban Floodplain re-connection and planting of a riparian buffer along the east bank of Gunners Brook at Reid Street.
