- Services: Decommission of end of service life Wizard 1470-005 gamma counter currently in the requesting lab’s location - to include the removal of the old instrument and all packing and shipping materials of the new instrument.
The laboratory does extensive pharmacologic/physiologic studies which require the use of radiolabeled ligands/peptides. Because of the sensitivity needed for the assays, this requires the lab to synthesize radio-iodinated ligands which requires a gamma counter to both monitor and assess the finished ligand. Furthermore, the lab needs to quantitate experimental results. Each of these steps requires the use of a sensitive gamma counter which can process multiple samples.
The Wizard2 has five detectors so the lab can count five tubes at a time, which is necessary when the lab wants to see the results of the assay before the next day. This enables the lab to plan for the next day’s experiments. The Wizard 2470-5 is an upgrade over the old Wizard 1740 that has a built -in Windows10 operating system so data files will be EXCEL compatible, making it easier for the lab to evaluate the results of our experiments. Also, the new Wizard 2470-5 will be the right size/footprint to fit in the allotted space where the old Wizard 1740 is currently housed.
Training:
Company technician/personnel will train lab members on the use of the Wizard2.
