The purpose of this amendment is to provide clarification to questions received from prospective offerors during the site visit on 08/12/2025. Responses are provided below. See Attachment Bldg 143 ARCH as-builts for reference:
· Does the operator need to integrate with LenelS2 OnGuard or another VA PACS platform?
Honeywell Winpack is our current platform. To ensure clarity, the contractor is only responsible for ensuring that the door hardware is compatible. There will be no work performed to connect the PACS system to the hardware.
· What type of locking hardware is controlled by the PACS (Electrified strike, mag lock, electrified lever, etc.)?
With initial investigation the hardware has been determined to be an electric bolt at the top of the door frame. The exact specifications of the hardware are unknown, as is the method by which the PACS connects with the electric bolt.
· For the staff doors, do the entire doors need to be replaced?
No. The intent of this project is only to replace the hardware on the doors.
· Does the new hardware need to operate on emergency power?
No. Given that the electrical work was removed from the project, the VA will handle whether the hardware is connected to emergency power.
· Do the restroom doors have any kind of backing to mount hardware?
During the site visit, it was determined that there is no backing at the restroom doors. Contractors will be provided architectural plans for Building 143 that include partition details and the door schedule. This will validate whether there is backing as well as the type of hardware used for the doors in this contract. Restroom room numbers are: 2107, 2106, 1106, and 1107. The staff doors are located at the vestibule labeled 1199N.
· Will the push buttons be surface mounted?
Yes. The buttons will be surface mounted and should not be recessed inside the wall.
· Will there need to be any remediation or studies for hazardous materials?
No. This is a new building constructed between 2012 and 2014; no such considerations are required.
· What is the desired finish of the hardware?
Clear is the desired finish.

The Walla Walla VA has three patient care buildings that require entrances that provide ease of access to the interior of the building and other interior spaces within the building. One of the buildings, Building 143, needs to have pushbutton door operators at one staff entrance and in first and second floor public restrooms to comply with ADA access requirements. In total there are four single wooden restroom doors that will need hardware and sets of double doors with metal frames for the staff entrance. See photo attachments in section four for the doors that will be worked on. Additionally, there will need to be a single fixed bollard provided to mount a pushbutton operator. This scope of work aims to address the requirements and deliverables needed to add operator functionality to these doors.
