This USDA-Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service construction requirement is for the renovation of a room in building 6418 at Moore Air Base in Edinburg, Texas. 
 
Background:
 
Building 6418 at Moore Air Base is a Mexican Fruit Fly Rearing Facility.  The Mexican Fruit Fly Program is charged with the eradication of Mexican Fruit Flies from the Lower Rio Grande Valley in Texas and the northern municipalities of Tamaulipas, Mexico. 
 
Building 6418’s Colony Egg Bubbling Room is where fly eggs are cleaned and incubated.  The equipment and furniture in the room is corroded beyond repair, along with the floors, which are dilapidated due to high traffic, corrosive chemical washout, and foundation settling.
 
This project is set aside for service-disabled veteran-owned small business firms only.  The NAICS code is 236220 – Commercial and Institutional Building Construction, with a small business size standard of $45 million.  The estimated magnitude of the project is between $100,000 and $250,000.
