The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code proposed is 334515 – Instrument Manufacturing for Measuring and Testing Electricity and Electrical Signals. The size standard is 750 employees. The proposed contract is contemplated as a firm-fixed price contract.
The United States Air Force Academy (USAFA) Dean of Faculty Department of Physics (DFPM) has a requirement for two (2) frequency counters for use by Cadets in support of USAFA’s extensive research efforts in experimental atomic physics, laser spectroscopy, and quantum computing. The frequency counters will strongly impact and support several ongoing funded research projects in Atomic Physics and Laser Spectroscopy, as well as the proposed new Quantum Information Science minor, and the Nuclear Physics minor, for Cadets. The frequency counters must meet the following salient characteristics:
- at least 15 GHz count rate;
- at least, or better than, 100 ps single shot time resolution;
- 12 digits/s display resolution;
- ultra high stability OCXO oven timebase, stability better than ±50 ppb in one year, that is, less than ±5x10‑8 in one year;
- includes totalize mode; and
- two other lower frequency 350 MHz channels.
Delivery is FOB Destination to USAF Academy, CO 80840.
Market research is being conducted to determine interest, capability, and socio-economic category of potential sources for the requirement. The government requests interested parties submit in your capabilities package:
