Synopsis: Repair P-23 Fire Emergency Response Vehicle Water/Foam Tank
The purpose of this synopsis is to gain knowledge of potential sources for this project including interested
Small Business sources. This notice is for planning purposes only. All interested parties should respond.
McGhee Tyson Air National Guard Base, Tennessee intends to issue a solicitation and award of a contract to
“Repair Emergency Fire Vehicle Water/Foam Tank”.
P-23 Fire Emergency Response Vehicle Water/Foam Tank Replacement Services
1.1 Scope: The contractor shall provide all personnel, equipment, tools, materials, supervision, and quality control necessary, except as specified in Paragraph 3.0 as Government Furnished, to perform Water/ Foam Tank Replacement Service, as defined in this PWS.
1.1.1 Objectives: Tank replacement to fix foam leak
1.2 Background: Replace the water/foam tank and perform an operational check to verify fix
5.0 Requirements: The vehicle will be delivered to contractor’s place of business within 50 Miles of McGhee Tyson ANG Base.
Upon receipt of the vehicle, the contractor shall:
- Remove upper tank plating, bracketry, all necessary plumbing, and electrical wires and components surrounding water/foam tank.
- A tank cradle will need to then be fabricated for the tank anchor points for removal of the tank by a crane.
- Upon tank removal an inspection of the truck will need to be performed to verify integrity of tank hold points with new Isolators and Bushings replacing the old.
- Old tank components that are attached will then need to be installed on new tank.
- Installation of the new tank begins by lifting with a crane and installing in the vehicle securing it to the mounting points.
- Re-Install all removed components such as plumbing and electrical, as well as upper tank plating and bracketry.
- The truck will be filled with water and pump tested to ensure product was installed correctly checking for any leaks, cracks, or other issues that may arise.
All interested vendors will provide this office, in writing, a notice stating their positive intent to submit a proposal as a prime contractor no later than 8 July 2025. This notification, which shall not exceed five typewritten pages,
must include (1) positive statement of intent to bid as a prime contractor, and (2) a completed and signed
Source Sought Information Request Form (add link to form) and (3) A brief outline of
resources, subcontractors, and key personnel that would be used to accomplish the contract.
In the event adequate Small Business contractors are not available for adequate competition for this
project, it may be advertised as unrestricted. Include the following in the subject line "Sources Sought W50S98-25-Q-0006".
