The Government is conducting market research to identify potential sources that possess the repair capabilities and experience to meet qualification requirements to repair Main Landing Gear Doors, Aft Center Cargo Doors, Nose Landing Gear Doors and Blister Panels.
This requirement is for repair services. Our repair services strategy is a ten-year contract (basic plus nine option years) will continue through FY36. The projected quantities will be Best Estimated Quantities (BEQ) of 1-5 per year.
The Government’s needs for repair services are required in order to support current carrier operations. The C-5’s doors include both B-model and C-model C-5 Aircraft. The aft cargo door serves a critical function in loading and unloading oversized cargo. The function of the C-5 main landing gear door serves several functions including aerodynamic efficiency, protection of landing gear components, landing gear operations and the structural integrity of the aircraft.
