CLINICAL DUTIES. The Contract Provide(s actual clinical duties will be in accordance with his/her credentialed privileges within the Medical Staff Bylaws of the FTIHS, and will include the following:
- Provide high quality and efficient care to patients; examine and diagnose the health related conditions of patients of allages whopresent for care, seeing an average of16 patients per day.
- Refer individuals for consultation when appropriate, and prescribe and carry out appropriate therapy as recommended by the specialist.
- Participate in Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH) model and encourage patient engagement.
- Educate individuals inthe nature ofhealth related conditions, recommended therapy, and general promotion of health andprevention of disease.
- Utilize EHR computer software/program for entering and signing of medical orders such as laboratory studies, anddirectly signing and dating radiological studies, etc.
- Document complete and timely consultations in the patient's health care record.
- Obtain necessary information on patients seen in the OPD, such as medical records, x-ray images and reports, normal and abnormal test results, and documents pertinent to the patient's medical record.
- Establish interpersonal, intra-departmental relationships, and social sensitivity such that he/she can relate constructively to patients from Native American communities to enhance optimal patient care.
- Exhibit professional conduct among staff andpatients, andrespect and maintain the basic rights
of patients, to include but not be limited to, personal dignity, cultural sensitivity, privacy, and confidentiality. Violations of these policies may lead to the immediate removal of the Contract Provider from this contract and the facility.
- Maintain familiarity andcomply withFederal, State, Indian Health Service, accreditation standards, CMS regulations, and departmental regulation andrequirements.
- Participate in committees as assigned (Medical Staff, Purchase & Referred Care, Quality Assurance, Pain Management, Pharmacy & Therapeutics, Outpatient Department, etc.).
- Staff development/education as assigned by the Clinical Director.
- Peer reviews as assigned according to facility by-laws.

Medical services shall not be performed by a Contract Provider until professional staff membership and clinical privileges have been granted in writing by the medical executive committee of the FTIHS and the GPA in accordance with IHS policy. Any failure to comply with IHS privileging requirements shall be considered to benonperformanceof this contract.
