To provide planning and publication of a special issue for the Journal of Occupational and Environmental Medicine.
The primary goal of this acquisition is to provide the planning and publication of a special issue to JOEM, on a comprehensive overview of VA’s efforts to better understand the current state of the science and the possible health effects associated with jet fuel exposure, and to clearly identify gaps, challenges, and opportunities for future research.
The contractor shall provide the resources and services necessary to produce special issues, as needed, to JOEM, a peer-reviewed scientific journal. The special issues of JOEM shall contain 9 articles and a maximum of 104 pages. One article will be an editorial that gives context for why this is a priority issue for VA. One original article will be drafted to serve as an introduction to the body of work and detailed description of the methods used. The final seven original articles will contain findings on specific health outcomes related to jet fuel exposure.
