Scope of Work for Lock & Dam 5A AFFF Extinguisher Cleanout
- The purpose of this contract is to provide the clean out service of a Film Forming Fluoroprotein (FFFP) Extinguisher Cart and disposal of the removed contents. The extinguisher is located at Lock and Dam 5A of the Saint Paul District US Army Corps of Engineers.
- The contractor shall conduct all work onsite to disable and empty the nitrogen activation cylinder, remove the entire contents from a wheeled FFFP extinguisher, dispose of the FFFP solution removed from the extinguisher, clean extinguisher vessel, and rinse the extinguisher vessel.
- The cost shall include all removal, packaging, handling, labeling, transporting, and disposal costs associated with the work. The contractor shall provide cleaning and disposal records to the government documenting the work. The contractor is responsible for all providing and disposing of all materials, supplies, and PPE to their employees necessary to complete the work. The FFFP extinguisher is government owned property and shall remain in the custody of the government after the work is complete.
- The wheeled FFFP extinguisher cart is manufactured by Amerex and is a Model 630 Wheeled FFFP Cart, Serial Number AD-977061. Reference Amerex owners manual number 05615 for 33 gallon wheeled FFFP cart.
Contents of the extinguisher are outlined as Amerex Part Number 07512, 2 gallon FFFP recharge kit. Contractors shall reference MSDS for further information.
- The removal services shall be completed by June 30th 2025.
