BASE ITEMS: Work includes but is not limited to:
1) Design and construct manhole benching and invert channels for WPB building manhole.
2) Inverts must be true to the sewer pipe invert elevation with smooth channels of uniform
cross section and slop, either straight or with a continuous curve between the inlet and
outlet of the pipes. Concrete inverts should be placed based on the dimension and details
of the contract plans and specification.
3) Contractor shall follow OSHA section 1926.953 safety requirements for confined space
entry before a manhole cover can be removed.
4) The Contractor shall perform, and atmospheric pressure build up test, temperature build
up test an<l or hazar<lons atmosphere test anci a pl,m to mitig<lfe these h,mmls
5) Contractor shall install a temporary railing, cover or other barrier erected around the
manhole immediately after the manhole is safely removed.
6) Contractor shall have a confined space tripod rescue system for safety entry, exit, rescue
an or retrieval of personnel.
7) Contractor shall provide fall protection and rescue, continue gas detection, and possible
force air ventilation.
8) Work shall be performed by or under the direct supervision of journeyman level workers
in their respective trades.
