Request for Information (RFI) for the Army Flyer’s Helmets Apache Helmet Assembly (AHA), part number A12872-x (x=13-18) and Head Gear Unit (HGU)-56/P Rotary Wing Helmet Rotary Wing Helmet (RWH), part number A14093x (x=7-12).
THIS IS A RFI ONLY. This is a Sources Sought (SS)/Request for Information (RFI) for market research. Information is for preliminary planning purposes in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 10. This announcement does not constitute a Request for Proposal (RFP) and does not commit the Government to solicit nor award a contract now or in the future. Furthermore, the Army is not seeking proposals and will not accept unsolicited proposals. Respondees are advised that the U.S. Government will not pay for information or administrative costs incurred in response to this RFI. All costs associated with responding to this RFI will be solely at the interested party’s expense.
Purpose: Product Manager Air Warrior (PdM AW) is seeking to identify interested contractors capable of manufacture and delivery of qualified AHA and HGU-56/P RWH. The responses to this RFI will be used to gather information that may be able to fulfill PdM AW’s needs.
Background: PdM AW is the configuration manager of the flyer’s helmet and has a requirement to provide helmets in support of Army Aviation. PdM AW is seeking AHA part number A12872-x (x=13-18) and associated parts, and HGU-56/P RWH part number A14093x (x=7-12) and associated parts. The helmet assemblies will be fielded to Army Aviation rotary wing pilots and crew members and to Army Aviation rotary wing pilot flight school graduates. PdM AW expects to begin procurement in 2nd quarter FY26 for fielding in 3rd quarter FY 26.
Any contractor must have a qualified system to meet the timelines for fielding. The AHA must be in accordance with part number A12872-x (x=13-18) and the HGU-56/P RWH must be in accordance with part number A14093x (x=7-12).

Submissions can be made through written correspondence and/or electronic mail. Responses should at a minimum include:
- Name and address of the interested company or organization;
- Contact information for the primary POC;
- A brief description of the potential offeror’s company/organization;
- A description of the potential offeror’s capabilities and products;
- A description of the potential offeror’s quality certification and program;
- A description of how the potential offeror’s product currently meets the Air Warrior requirement
The US Government does not own the rights to all the drawings defining the AHA or HGU-56/P-RWH. Therefore, potential offerors will verify that they have or can obtain legal rights to the drawings or reverse engineer the AHA and HGU-56/P-RWH. The Government will not pay for nor reimburse any offeror for the purchase of AHA or HGU-56/P-RWH used for reverse engineering purposes.
Helmet Configuration and spare parts must be 100% interchangeable with the current AHA and HGU-56/P-RWH and must meet the following Government owned specifications.

New vendors will have to pass a First Article Test and may have to submit a Qualification Report.
