REQUEST FOR INFORMATION FOR EMBEDDED AUTONOMY FOR AUTONOMOUS UNDERWATER VEHICLES
The Naval Surface Warfare Center Panama City Division (NSWC PCD) is seeking information on autonomy capabilities that can be used on autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs) and autonomous surface vehicles (ASVs) that can react in real time to sensor observations without the need for an operator in the loop.
Description
NSWC PCD is seeking information on AUV and ASV embedded autonomy capabilities for performing dynamic, reactive missions based on real time sensor observations. Technologies of interest address one or more of the following capabilities:
- Obstacle Avoidance: Avoiding obstacles and navigating around exclusion zones created in operation by onboard vehicle sensors.
- Track and follow capabilities: Ability to dynamically track and/or follow a target or series of targets based on sensor input.
- Dynamic route replanning: Adjusting and changing vehicle route and objectives based on observations made by onboard sensors, such as obstacles, targets of interest, or areas of interest.
- In-situ task reprioritization: Real time adjustment of task prioritization based on factors such as in-situ created tasks, distance to a task objective, time/energy cost of task completion, etc.
- AUV and sensor health monitoring: Monitoring AUV and sensor health, such as whether sensors are active and operating, battery charge level and expected
- Multi-pass and search route optimizations: Optimization of AUV/ASV path based on current mission objectives and future mission objectives, including location monitoring that requires multi-pass visits to a single location.
The applicable PSC code is 6605. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) for this requirement is 334511. Size Standard is 1350 employees.
