The due date of the RFQ has been extended until 12:00pm, July 19, 2024 ET.
BACKGROUND: The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Fire Department is tasked with Fire Prevention and Emergency Response on the NIST Gaithersburg, MD facility. The NIST Fire Department has 15 personnel that require Structural Firefighting gear that follows the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) Standards. The NFPA 1851 standard, establishes requirements for the selection, care, and maintenance of structural firefighting protective clothing and equipment, dictates gear that is 10 years past its manufacture date should be retired. Some of the department’s gear is reaching the 10-year age limit, and therefore needs to be replaced.
PURPOSE: Replace the NIST Fire Departments 15 personnel equipment with new standardized structural firefighting garments. The contractor shall assistance with onsite sizing of firefighters using individual sizing samples to properly fit firefighters and delivery the gear to the NIST Fire Department.
REQUIREMENTS:
Garments and accessories shall be compliant per NFPA 1971-2018. All garments are 3rd party tested by U.L. Underwriters Laboratory and the manufacturer.

Structural Gear will be based on Brand name Globe G-Extreme 3.0 or equal.
