The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Forest Service (FS), Intermountain Zone, Ashley National Forest has a need for a portable gelling agent torch system. Equal to a GFS 50 Terra Torch System. The salient characteristics of this system are:
• Complete ground ignition system capable of mixing, holding, recirculating a maximum of 50 gallons of gasoline gelled fuel and propelling gelled fuel through a handheld nozzle with an ignition tip to ignite fuel on a specific target.
• Compact (maximum 40” W x 36” L x 36”H) and light weight (< 500 lbs.), capable of fitting in the bed of a UTV, pickup bed or sled pulled by a snowmobile.
• Tank includes spill containment protection with emergency venting provisions with safety cap and flash arrestor designed for safe filling of the tank. Safety pressure relief valve bypass system with pressure gauge.
• Gasoline powered pump and valve system capable of drawing, mixing, recirculating, or propelling, gelled fuel 25 – 75 feet.
• 12-volt electrical system that activates pump system through the handheld nozzle for propelling fuel. Control box to operate pump control for fueling, mixing and nozzle operation.
• High pressure, grounded petroleum rated hose, with quick connect hydraulic hose fittings to attach hose to the pump and/or nozzle. Minimum of 2 hoses, one 1” 10 ft transfer/draw hose for filling tank and one 25 ft. (minimum 5/8”) hose for operating the handheld nozzle.
• Retractable bonding reel with vehicle grounding clamp to ground system to vehicle being used.
• Driver corded emergency shut off switch allowing full control of the system from within the cab of a vehicle or snowmobile.
• Delivery, training, and operational manuals provided by the vendor.
