Sources Sought for diamond materials to be used in quantum sensing using implanted defects (Nitrogen-Vacancy centers)

A. Objective:

To find sources that are qualified to meet the supplies/services as listed in section B. Note that the specific requirements in section B are subject to change prior to the release of any solicitation.

B. Salient Characteristics for diamond materials

1. Quantity one (1) 10x10x0.5 millimeters (mm) diamond plate with one (1) micron nitrogen-vacancy (NV) layer and three (3) nanometer (nm) polish.
2. Quantity three (3) 7x7x0.5mm diamond plate with one (1) micron NV layer and three (3) nm polish.
3. Quantity two (2) 7x7x0.5mm diamond plate with one (1) micron NV layer and five (5) nm polish.

C. Responses:

All interested parties should notify this office in writing, mail, fax, or e-mail within the posted date.  Responses shall include:

1. To what extent each of the specifications can be met.
2. Include your type of business (i.e. commercial, academia), whether your organization is classified as a large or small business based on the 750 employees standard that accompanies NAICS code 327999. If a small business, you must also list any small disadvantaged status you hold [HUBZone, 8(a), Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB), Women Owned Small Business (WOSB), Economically Disadvantaged Women-Owned Small Business (EDWOSB), etc.].
3. Past experience/ performance through the description of completed projects.
