INTRODUCTION
TEAD desires an equipment supply of a generator powered by natural gas (NG) or a natural gas/diesel (NG/D) bi-fuel to supply emergency power to a microgrid for base operations.
The Contractor shall provide a generator that shall be in accordance with all federal, state, and local statutes and regulations.
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
TEAD will install a new Standby Generator System and associated digital controls to provide a central means of controlling peak demands to eliminate or greatly reduce TEAD electrical demand charges. System will consist of two (2) NG or NG/D powered 1500 KW generators or three (3) 1000 KW generators or four (4) 750 KW generators and central controls capable of interfacing with a soon to be installed Microgrid (by others). The generators will be three (3) phase with output voltages to be one (1) of three (3) possibilities (12470, 4160 or 480). This system will work with the Microgrid to eliminate peak demands on the utility grid, thus greatly reducing or eliminating demand charges from the electrical utility. These generators will have the capability to run separately and in tandem in order to conserve fuel and insure economical operation. The resulting reduction of fuel use will significantly reduce the carbon footprint of the Depot.
APPLICABLE DOCUMENTS
The Contractor shall identify and comply with all applicable federal, state, and local statutes. It is the Contractor’s fundamental responsibility to identify and comply with all mandatory federal and applicable DOD and Army requirements whether listed specifically in this document.
