PURPOSE:
This requisition is to provide the NOAA Ship Okeanos Explorer, a research vessel owned by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, with two (2) Self Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) units for the ship’s Investigation Team that are approved for fire-fighting by the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA). The current Investigator SCBA’s are not NFPA approved, and are primarily used for confined space entry and rescue. • The SCBAs shall be approved for fire-fighting by the NFPA, and compliant to the latest NFPA 1981/1982, 2018 Edition standards.
• The SCBAs shall have the Personal Alert Safety System (PASS) safety feature.
