Specifications include, but are not limited to: Phase 1 – Discovery and Work Plan Formulation The successful firm shall conduct an extensive review of the bid documents and construction records from the 2006-07 East Century Avenue Reconstruction project, with special emphasis on the bridge and approach construction. This shall include geotechnical reports and recommendations, relevant plan sheets, shop drawings, specifications and construction logs. After reviewing the existing records, the selected consultant shall develop a Work Plan describing the field investigation work that shall be completed in Phase 2 along with a detailed budget and schedule. Phase 2 – Field Investigation A field investigation shall be conducted to identify the geotechnical issues at the site and determine the nature of the problem, quantify current settlement rates (if applicable), and provide recommended measures for the control of future settlement. An investigation shall also be conducted into the structural integrity of the existing Mechanically Stabilized Earth wall system. A Field Investigation Report shall be prepared that describes the results of the field investigation and recommendations for site remediation. The report shall be prepared first in draft form and presented to the City of Bismarck staff for review. After receipt of review comments from the City of Bismarck, a final report shall be prepared and presented to the City Commission at a regularly scheduled meeting.
