THIS IS A NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE CONTRACT AND IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES.
The USDA/ARS intends to award a Firm fixed price sole source contract under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1), single source for purchase not exceeding the simplified acquisition threshold, to:
Any vendor that can provide STARe compatible equipment with the requirements.
Description of Requirement: The contractor shall provide a new thermogravimetric analyzer with differential scanning calorimeter with the following minimum requirements:
- Furnace temperature range: 0°C to 1000°C
- Furnace temperature accuracy: +/- 0.3K
- Furnace temperature precision: +/- 0.2K
- Furnace temperature resolution: 0.001 K
- Furnace heating time: 10 min
- Furnace heating rate: 150 K/min
- Cooling system: mini-chiller
- Able to perform dual analysis of thermogravimetry and differential scanning calorimetry
- Microbalance range: 0-1g
- Microbalance resolution: 1.0 ug
- Must be compatible with existing STARe evaluation software package
- Qty: 1 system
The NAICS code for the expected acquisition is 334516, with a Size Standard of 1000 employees and the PSC Code is 6640.
NO solicitation or solicitation package will be issued. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes; however, interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement. All information received by 10:00 AM Central Time on September 11, 2023 will be considered by the Government. Responses shall be submitted to Melissa Grice at melissa.grice@usda.gov. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
