The Department of Defense (DoD), Washington Headquarters Services, Acquisition Directorate, (WHS/AD) intends to award a sole source, firm-fixed price contract to Marine Magnetics Inc 135 Spy Crt, Markham, On L3R 5H6 Canada (UEI: HLLNTTKYLAJ9 CAGE: L3671).
To meet the Government’s mission, the Defense Prisoner of War (POW)/Missing in Action (MIA) Accounting Agency (DPAA) is to achieve the fullest possible accounting of all Americans missing as a result of our nation's past conflicts. The highest priority of the organization is the recovery and return of the remains of fallen service members to their families. The two Marine Magnetics remote sensing tow cables are proprietary cables that are used in conjunction with the two Marine Magnetics magnetometer systems currently used by the DPAA Underwater (UW) Archaeology team. The contracting officer has determined that Marine Magnetics has the capability to not only meet all salient requirements, but are the direct seller of the Marine Magnetics, which is comprised of the following items:
Tow Cables
SeaSPY2 Tow Cable Termination to Deck
200m Hand Cranked Metal Cable
SearSPY2 Isolation Transceiver 48v
30m Deck Leader cable
RS-232 Cable
Universal Power Supply
This procurement will be issued in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 13.5 under the authority of 41 U.S.C. 1901, Simplified Acquisition Procedures. The NAICS code utilized for this procurement is 33999 – All Other Miscellaneous Manufacturing Small Business Size Standard of 550 employees. This is a commercial item. The estimated amount for this procurement is under the Simplified Acquisition Threshold 90 days after Award delivery date.
This notice of intent is NOT a request for competitive quotations, however interested parties may identify their interest and submit a capability statement indicating they meet the same/similar curriculum identified above by 12:00 PM, EDT on July 14, 2023 to susie.m.lee3.civ@mail.mil and William.p.relyea.civ@mail.mil. A determination by the Government not to compete the contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
