The Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC), Coastal and Hydraulics Laboratory (CHL) is seeking potential sources for a Constant Rate of Strain Soil Consolidation Device. Potential suppliers of this equipment are invited to provide capabilities and potential solution via email to CHL-CT-Quotes@usace.army.mil not later than 2pm (CST) 16 June 2023.
Please add Email Subject "Sources Sought Response - Constant Rate of Strain Soil Consolidation Device" to your response.
Quotations are not sought at this time.
When providing a response, please provide CAGE Code, UEI, and Socioeconomic Indicators (if applicable).
Requirements for ALL EQUIPMENT listed below:
Equipment shall be new or in unused condition. Used or refurbished equipment will not be considered.
- Constant Rate of Strain soil consolidation device (CRS).
- Removable CRS cells to hold soil during consolidation process, 100 mm x 22m high.
- Load frame capacity of 10 kN.
- Pressure transducer with capacity of 100 kPa. Accuracy 0.10% of full range output.
- Internal load cell capacity of 1 kN, submersible, with accuracy within 0.1% of full range output.
- Linear displacement transducer to measure vertical displacement during experiment, including all cables. Accuracy within 0.075%. Range of 25 mm.
- CRS cells must include pressure connections with hydraulic lines to connect to a hydraulic pump, to include tubing, sealant, grease, pipe cutter, all pipe junctions, nut and ferrules for connections.
- Hydraulic pump (pressure / volume controller) with automated protection against exceeding maximum pressure/volume limits of equipment. Volume change must be measured to within 1 cubic millimeter.
- Hydraulic pump volume accuracy within 0.25% of the measured value, and pressure accuracy withing 0.15% of the full range. Pressure should be regulated to 0.1 kPa.
- Includes De-Airing block for pressure transducer with non-volume change valve.
- Software to prepare CRS experiment, run CRS experiment, acquire and process data during experiment, and export data included.
- Includes all USB and power cables.
- Remote Installation, calibration, and training for 4 people
