SOURCES SOUGHT (MARKET SURVEY):
The National Park Service (NPS) is conducting a market survey to determine the interest and capability of contractors for a possible upcoming project. All costs associated with providing information in response to this market survey shall be the responsibility of the firm. Any information submitted is voluntary. The Contracting Officer will make an acquisition strategy determination based on the results of this market survey.
Prime contractors interested in working at Ice Age National Scenic Trail (Various locations in Wisconsin) the work will consist of:
Providing all labor, materials, tools and other equipment necessary to identify the presence of archeological resources within the APE. The APE is typically defined as the trail plus 5 feet to either side of the center line. In some instances, the APE is larger, this is indicated under the Task Section. An important goal of the project is to identify any archeological resources within the APE so that the potential sites can be avoided. A final survey report will include survey locations, a site sensitivity map depicting the locations of archeological sites, culturally significant landscape features (if any), and areas of high, low, and no potential for the presence of archeological resources. The report will also provide management recommendations that, among other topics, will address the future treatment of, and/or methods for avoiding adverse impacts to, archeological resources. The report will be submitted to the Wisconsin SHPO as part of the consultation and concurrence process detailed in the 2021 Programmatic Agreement. We anticipate that work would begin in late May/early June 2023.
