USDA Forest Service has a need for farrier services for the Flathead National Forest on the Hungry horse and Spotted Bear Ranger Districts. The Hungry Horse Ranger District is in the town of Hungry Horse, MT. The Spotted Bear Ranger Station is located approximately 55 miles south of Martin City, MT, near the confluence of Spotted Bear River and the South Fork of the Flathead River. The Flathead stock program consists of about 90 head of stock. The entire herd will only need to be shod in June and July. The shoeing in May and September will not be the entire herd with Mays shoeing being approximately 25 and September`s approximately 60. There will be an expectation that each shoeing is completed in under a weeks’ time. The farrier will supply all tools, equipment, and shoes.
