Q1. Are we able to use Boom masticators mounted on metal tracks or have the ability to put rubber mounts on the excavator? We don't have rubbered tired style masticator that are boom mounted.
A1. No. MUST have rubber tired machines.
Q2. Can we please get a pdf geo tagged map
A2. Yes, see attached Geo Referenced maps.
Q3. I know this contract was bidded last year as well. Was that project completed? Or is this for the same contract as last year?
A3. The RFQ from last year (140L3722Q0085) was awarded and the work completed. That one was for different areas of 84 Mesa than this current one.
The Bureau of Land Management, Colorado, has a requirement for a contractor to cut and shred (general masticate) pinyon and juniper trees with a Contractor furnished machine (e.g. Hydro-Ax, Fecon Bull Hog).
General Description of Work: All trees 18" DBH and less within the designated treatment areas shall be cut and shredded (masticated). Total acreage is 579 acres. The treatment area can be described as relatively flat terrain (< 15% slope) a moderate density of 1" to 14" diameter juniper trees. The majority of the trees are in the 6" - 12" range with multiple stems. Isolated larger trees (14"- 18") are also present. Some rocks and drainages are present and the overall level of difficulty is low.
No site visit is scheduled but location files are available upon request.
The location is approximately 25 miles southwest of Meeker, CO

This solicitation is being issued as a total small business set-aside. The NAICS associated with this solicitation is 115310 Support Activities for Forestry, Fuels Management Services, which has a small business size standard of $34M.
Award will be made on a Lowest Priced Technically Acceptable basis. See provision 52.212-2 `Evaluation' for details of what must be included with your quote.

Any questions received will be answered via an amendment to the solicitation on or about Tuesday April 2518, 2023. If no questions are received no amendment will be issued.
Quotes shall be submitted via email to lstjohn@blm.gov by no later than Friday May 5, 2023 at 4:00 pm MT. All quotes received will be acknowledged by a return email. Please include the RFQ number (140L3723Q0037) in the subject line of the email to ensure your quote is properly identified.
