Specifications include, but are not limited to:Indian River is soliciting interested professional architectural and engineering teams to submit a proposal to provide design services for the planning, designing, constructing, and equipping needed schools within the District. This may include replacing Howard T. Ennis, a special school, one or more elementary school(s), and a new middle school in order to accommodate anticipated student growth projections as well as additions or renovations to existing high schools. Indian River has been evaluating various demographic projections and student enrollment growth projections for all schools in the District and has identified specific areas of need. These projects include planning, constructing, and equipping initiatives that could include health, welfare, safety, operations, accessibility accommodations, educational environments, and general building usages. Items that must be taken into consideration are the actual and anticipated number of pupils, feasibility of school consolidation, present and future possibility of school overcrowding, the condition and quality of existing facilities and infrastructures of schools within district, and all other matters and conditions pertinent to the determination of the necessity of such a school construction program. Indian River acknowledges that such projections could justify new buildings, school expansion, or additional classrooms. These projects include planning, constructing, and equipping initiatives including health, welfare, and safety operations; accessibility accommodations, educational environments, general building usages and improvements. Including but not limited to HVAC installations, boilers, piping, and air handling units, ductwork, fan coil units, exhaust fans, ducting, and controls: plumbing upgrades including replacement of branches, stacks, vents and fixtures; electrical installations including lighting, service and switchgear, panel boards; fire alarm system upgrades; additional power distributions for 2 technology; and emergency generator. Additionally needs include, site improvements include repair, reconfiguration, and repaving of parking lots; site improvements for design, reconfiguration of recreational and athletic areas; technology equipment acquisition and installation to include but not limited to furniture fixtures and equipment; as well as any mechanical, plumbing and life safety upgrades. All of these must take into consideration the actual and anticipated number of pupils, feasibility of school consolidation, present and future possibility of school overcrowding, the condition and quality of existing facilities and infrastructures of schools within district, and all other matters and conditions pertinent to the determination of the necessity of such a school construction program
