The USDA Forest Service is considering a contract to provide ground-based herbicide spraying and manual weed treatments within Forest Service lands in Elmore, Idaho. This work will consist of noxious and invasive weed management and treatment through survey and the use of chemical and manual control on the 2020 Grouse Creek Fire area within the South Fork of the Boise River watershed.
It is the Government’s intent to implement an Early Detection and Rapid Response (EDRR) approach of invasive weed management and treatment during growing season through the use of chemical controls within annual grass and noxious weed infestations, which will occur on approximately 340 total acres. Approximately 55 acres will be treated for annual grasses within dozer fire lines and 285 acres of roadside and trail treatments for noxious weeds will be completed.
