The United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Detroit District, intends on constructing a small watercraft launching facility connected to the Detroit River at the Detroit Project Office, 6309 W Jefferson Ave. Detroit, Michigan. The contractor will be required to construct the boat ramp consisting of excavation of approximately 2000 cubic yards, installation of a tie-back and retaining wall system consisting of two steel sheet pile (SSP) retaining wall to the required tip depth, which form the footprint of the slip and ramp; drive two (SSP) tie-back walls to required tip-depth; excavate between the two walls to accommodate the installation of waler/tie-rod systems; Install waler/tie-rod systems, which attach the retaining walls to the tie-back walls; backfilling between the retaining walls and tie-back walls; excavating between the two retaining walls to install a ramp with a 12 percent slope; placing base material and a reinforced concrete ramp; off-site disposal of all excavated material.
