Description of Work
A septic system for the Bonners Ferry Ranger District needs replacement. This is due to a pipe being
crushed between the tank and lift station along with the crumbling state of the tank. This replacement is
essential to the health and safety of the compound.
This septic system is for the bunkhouse and annex building, which does currently house an employee and
an administrative staff. Work should be performed as soon as possible due to the severity of the blockage.
This blockage is causing the tank needing to be pumped every 2-4 weeks even with minimal employees
on ground. Definitely needs to be done prior to the start of the fire season as more employees will be on
ground, it will putt more strain on the system.
The tasks needed to be completed is to excavate the 1000-gallon septic tank and lines, then replacing it
with new ones. This involves replacing and compacting the ground and laying down the asphalt/concrete
of the area excavated. The excavation will require specialty equipment, such as a backhoe.
