McCluskey Mastication, 184 acres
Amendment 0002 is issued to answer questions received and provide two additional location maps.
Q1. We have tracked excavators with Fecon mulching heads and I'm curious if these tracked machines would be allowed on this project instead of wheeled machines.
A1. The following language is included in the McCluskey SOW:
"The equipment described (rubber tired machine) above is preferred but other types of machinery may be acceptable. Please provide documentation on equipment type and impacts to soil from operation including turning and forward and reverse travel."
A tracked excavator with Fecon mulching head could be allowed, but the vendor is required to provide documentation on the type of equipment and potential soil impact.
Q2. How many acres a day are you guys expecting from the machine? Or what is average?
A2. We would expect approximately 5-10 acres completed daily, but this could vary, of course.
Q3. We use excavator on tracks with vertical masticator mounted heads with mulch control doors, this head allows us to mulch things as fine as saw dust or larger Pieces. Or do you guys prefer the skid steer type?
A3. Our specialist overseeing this project's chief concern is soil disturbance, so while skid steer or excavator style is technically acceptable, a rubber-tired machine is specified as a technical preference in the SOW.
Q4. Could you please send a copy of the sign-in sheet from the site visit that took place Tuesday April 18, 2023 at 1:00 pm MT?
A4. A sign in sheet was not kept but the list of vendors attending is:
Markitt Forestry Management
Ory Excavating Service
All Weather Services
Apex Fire Preparedness
Vegetation Management West
Delbert Johnson Tree & Stump Removal
Q5. Please provide pdf maps.
A5. Two pdf maps will be attached to this amendment.
