the Government is issuing a solicitation for the Depressing Air System Replacement, Big Bend Dam in Chamberlain, South Dakota. The solicitation will close on 16 December 2022.
The solicitation is 100% Small Business Set Aside. All contractors must be registered and have an active and verified account in the System for Award Management (SAM) in order to receive a contract from any DoD activity. Contractors may access the internet site at https://www.sam.gov/ to register and/or obtain information about the SAM program. Contractors must ensure that the applicable NAICS code is included in their proposal prior to submission of offer.
Project Description:
Omaha District is interested in upgrading the Depressing Air System at the Big Bend Dam, Chamberlain, South Dakota. This project comprises of the reconfiguration of the current four (4) compressor system. Two (2) of the current compressors will be replaced with two (2) 150HP two-stage, rotary screw, oil-flooded compressors and two (2) of the existing air compressors will be retained in the new design. The project will aim to decrease the systems recovery time by increasing the compressors capacity (CFM) and the total system storage by replacing one (1) damaged accumulator tank and adding two (2) additional accumulator tanks to the system (optional CLIN).
Estimated Construction Costs:
The estimated construction cost of this project is Between $500,000 and $1,000,000.

The Primary North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code anticipated for solicitation is NAICS 238290 “Other Building Equipment Contractors” with a Small Business size standard of $16.5 Million.
