Missed RFIs I don't see a list of specified products to be installed. The drawings don't seem to have that information. Sheet D1 has the specific items that we d like to have installed. All other items shall go through the submittal process. Once specific example is that exhaust fans are to be replaced, but our HVAC contractor informed me that it's not possible due to do the existing system. My guys replace them all the time. The existing fans are just burnt out. We are just looking for a one for one swap. There is conflicting information in the drawings. One drawing depicts a toilet with a tank and another drawing depicts a toilet without a tank. I'm certain the VA does not want tanks on the new toilets, but it is worth noting so that everyone can bid equally. The sheet that depicts a tank is only for ADA mounting height and special purposes. They are typically generic and are not meant to identify a specific type of product/fixture/item. The detail sheet calls out the specific items that the VA wants. All items not specified shall go through the submittal process. If we maxed out the magnitude of the project ($500,000), that's less than $9,000 per restroom. Included in that must be all of the overhead costs such as the bond, labor taxes, insurance, etc. Once all the bids have been received, the VA will evaluate them and provide the extra funds if deemed necessary. Some of the bathrooms on the list are quite small, while others are large.
