The outdated walk-in freezers and walk in refrigerators in the Kitchen and lower level of B108 are very old and past their service life. Currently utilizing very outdated technology with very little to no parts availability, and a change in VA Directive regarding water testing and legionella as pushed to remove the water evaporative cooling tower currently serving the freezers and refrigerators. Update and repair the walk-in unit boxes to prevent frost buildup on adjacent walls and to increase insulation effectiveness. There are several ancillary HVAC systems that require repair, replacement or updating to include chilled water pumps in B148, 151, 162, Energy Recovery systems in B161 and B158 and a main line steam leak in B107. Update and install flow switches in building 162. Conduct a full HVAC assessment in Building 107 as it has multiple HVAC systems and controls in various states of disrepair.
