The Forest Service is seeking sources for annual inspections and cleaning of chimneys and wood stoves on the Red River Ranger District in Elk City, ID.
Elk City Forest Service Compound known as Red River Ranger District Elk City Office (RRRD) has 13 typical chimneys comprised of 3 masonry, 1 propane, and 9 metal that require inspection and annual cleaning. Cleaning of chimney and wood stoves, requires using care to keep area adjacent free of creosote and ash, inspect chimney walls, cap, and flue.
Once the chimney sweep is complete, a Level 1 chimney inspection must be performed. Inspection information for each chimney should identify code violations, repairs and/or safety hazards that may exist in the stove or chimney, it should also make any recommendations for a Level 2 chimney inspections. Small incidental repairs or adjustments may be addressed during the inspection.
Must be a Certified Chimney Sweep and Inspections must be in accordance with NFPA 211.
The Forest Service intends to issue a 5 year contract that consists of a base year and four options. Cleaning and Inspections would occur in the fall.
