Work anticipated under this requirement consists of the replacement of the high voltage disconnect switches in the 115kV and 230kV switchyards which includes 40 manual switches, 13 MODs, and 15 grounding switches and associated jumpers. The steel switch supports will be re-used with provisions added for mounting the new switches. The string insulators connecting the switches to the generator and transmission lines will also be replaced. The 1 ½” copper bus sections between the breakers and disconnect switches, as well as all vertical copper bus will be replaced with ACSR (aluminum conductor steel reinforced) cables. The horizontal bus sections between the main and auxiliary bus will be replaced with rigid aluminum tubing. An inspection of the 230kV and 115kV switchyard aluminum main and auxiliary buses will be conducted with a total of 60 inches of weld repair allotted for deficiencies found. Feeder and control cables will be replaced for the new MODs.
