This combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items is prepared in accordance with the format at FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotes are being requested.
The solicitation number is W913E522Q0019 is being issued as a request for quotation (RFQ).
The associated North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 335998 - Inhibitors (e.g., corrosion, oxidation, polymerization) manufacturing which has a size standard of 500 employees. This requirement is a Total Small Business Set-Aside in accordance with FAR 19.502-2.
The United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC), ERDC-CRREL’s Force Projection and Sustainment Branch has a requirement for Corrosion Testing Chamber to support a variety of materials research experiments to test the stability, longevity, and corrosion resistance of materials and coatings at controlled temperatures and humidity levels. The Corrosion Testing Chamber must have the following specifications:
- Cyclic corrosion testing
- Chamber size:
- Roughly 20 ft3 interior volume
- Relative humidity control
- Range: 30-90% RH
- Able to perform accelerated corrosion tests at different RH and temperature values (ie. GMW 14872)
- Temperature Range:
- 20-60 °C
- Allows for variable salt solutions
- Power supply:
- 240 V, 25 A
- Automated test control
- Programable tests
- Touchscreen display on unit
- Pre-programed ramps and dry off for standardized tests
- Test panels for B117 ASTM standard
- Specimen panel racks
- Full user manual
- Installation kit
- Installation and training
- The system must come with all necessary connection cables and supply tubing.
- Shipping must be included
Preferred specifications:
- Pre-assembled unit with no on-site assembly required
- Self-contained venting and draining units so it is not necessary to externally exhaust the chamber
Please reference the attached RFQ for instructions and applicable provisions and clauses. Award will be made to the responsible offeror whose offer represents the Lowest Price Technically Acceptable (LPTA) to the Government. The following factors will be used for evaluation: the offeror's ability to meet the required technical specifications and price.
