This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2022-04. This solicitation is issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ).
This contract requires the Contractor to furnish equine stock (horses and/mules) to the US Forest Service. Delivery Orders issued will have more specific specifications based on the requirements of the program need. Baseline qualifications need to meet the following generic specifications:
Horses: Between the ages of 2 and 12; a size at maturity between 14 and 17 hands tall, 900-1500 lbs; sound; an amenable and trainable personality; geldings, mares being the exception primarily for work horses.
Mules: Between the ages of 2 and 12; a size at maturity between 14 and 17 hands tall, 900-1600 lbs; sound; Johns or Mollys; an amenable and trainable personality.
Temperament is weighted more than color, size or breed.
