PURPOSE
This is an EMERGENCY REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI), this is not a Request for Quotes (RFQ). No formal solicitation document exists at this present time. This is not a solicitation announcement. Responses to this Sources Sought Notice will be utilized by the Government to make appropriate acquisition decisions. After review of the responses to this RFI, a solicitation announcement may or may not be published in Contract Opportunities. Questions will not be answered at this point in time.
STATEMENT OF NEED
VAMC Clarksburg has the need for an extractor fan to be replaced.
Please state if the following needs can be met:
- The Contractor shall perform all work necessary to completely remove the existing Exhaust Fan Unit (EFU)-30 motor and fan assembly (squirrel cage) and cut out existing fan and motor mounts. The existing fan is a 14,400 cubic feet/minute, DWDI Chicago fan; and the motor is a 30 HP US Electric motor.
- The Contractor shall weld-in new mounts and install new a fan and direct drive motor. With the exception of a direct drive motor in lieu of a belt drive motor, the new fan, motor, and assembly shall match the existing units to be replaced with respect to size, function, capability, and quality.
- The Contractor shall Test, Adjust, and Balance the entire lab area via the use of a hood (and not by measuring Air Handling Unit and Exhaust Fan Unit static pressures).
- The Contractor shall tie-in new equipment to facility’s Johnson Controls system and include all required programming.
When responding, please list the following information on your Company Letterhead:
- Name the Make and Model of suggested Exhaust Fan Unit. Brochures/pamphlets will be accepted.
- Please provide the lead time for this removal / installation.
FAILURE TO PROVIDE THE LEAD TIME WILL RENDER YOUR RESPONSE INCOMPLETE AND YOU WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.
All Capability Statements/Responses to this Sources Sought Notice shall be submitted
via email only to Liana.Holland@va.gov no later than Tuesday December 7th, 2021 at 17:00 (5pm) Eastern Standard Time.

Responses to these notices are not offers and cannot be accepted by the Government
to form a binding contract. Responders are solely responsible for all expenses incurred
